The other day I got a DM that sounded wayyyy too good to be true. Interact, a quiz platform that I absolutely LOVE, slid into my DMs asking if I wanted to partner with them.
At first I thought it was a scam, but no. It actually led to something I've been dreaming about for over a year, creating a quiz that actually helps you figure out what the hell is going on with your brand.
In this episode, I'm taking you behind-the-scenes on how this whole thing came together, why I'm obsessed with quizzes (thanks, teen magazines), and most importantly, walking you through the four circus acts that reveal exactly where your brand is right now and what it needs to grow.
I've wanted to make a quiz for the longest time. Like, ever since I rebranded into Flying Colours Creative almost a year ago.
I love quizzes. Some of my core girlhood memories involve begging my mum to buy this teen magazine called Bravo that came with metallic rings, butterfly hair clips, and most importantly: quizzes:
Which Spice Girl are you?
What does your handwriting say about your personality?
Are you more Avril or Britney?
So when Interact* (a platform I had already admired and researched when I first had the idea) reached out because they saw my weird little circus brand and went, "She'd be fun to make a quiz with," it felt like this wild, main character moment.
Because the reason they reached out wasn't random or sheer dumb luck. It was because of the clarity and memorability of my brand!
With the help of Interact, I built What's Your Brand's Circus Act?
Every one of the four results reflects a phase of brand growth I see again and again with my clients. The goals is to help you understand your strengths, the momentum you've already built, and how your audience might be perceiving you.
An important disclaimer: No result is bad! Every act has its strengths. You already know you've built something powerful. This quiz just helps you figure out how to build on top of it.
This is the bold, big energy business owner who's already making a name for themselves online. You can turn on your camera, start talking, and have people in your DMs saying, "It's like you're inside my head" or "I just binge-watched all of your reels."
You're visible. Your DMs are active. You're creating face-to-cam reels, carousels, emails, spicy threads… Your people know your point of view and what you stand for.
The thing about fire is that it moves fast, and the brighter it shines, the harder it is to keep it shining that bright without burning out.
You're growing faster than you imagined, feeling that momentum under your wings, but your visuals just haven't caught up yet.
Your logo might not be cutting it anymore. Your graphics are inconsistent. You've made 40 different versions of your templates, and none of them feel like you anymore.
And it's frustrating because you know what you have to say is good. People are listening. You're already a thought leader, but your branding doesn't reflect the force you've become.
You've got the fire. Your brand is already burning hot. What you need now is direction — so you can take that fire and turn it into something you can scale.
You’re clever, strategic, and have made it this far with one hell of a balancing act. If this is you, you're not new to this show. You've DIY'd your brand up to this point, and you've done a pretty incredible job.
You've walked that line between scrappy and strategic like a pro. Templates, Canva hacks — you've been doing it all yourself because you're resourceful, smart, and adaptable. You've probably pulled miracle launches that make people think you had a whole design team when it was just you in your living room on a Tuesday night.
But there's a wobble on that line now. Your brand feels a bit patchwork-y, a bit fragile. You're spending 40 minutes tweaking one Instagram post trying to make the text fit just right. Or you're reusing the same template over and over, not because you think it's the one, but because it's the only thing that seems to fit.
You're craving structure, something more stable, so you can take bigger steps. But you're scared that the second you try to go rogue — do something bold, original, a bit weird — it'll all start to feel shaky.
You don't need to burn it all down. You just need to trade that tightrope for solid ground. Your business is growing, and your brand needs to grow with it. You need something flexible but rooted, something that holds all your ideas and still leaves room for creativity.
You've figured out you can walk the line. Now you want to run the show.
If this is you, you've probably launched five offers, run three masterclasses, started and paused a podcast, opened a group program, and made a new freebie — all while listening to this very episode!
You're everywhere. You're a walking brainstorm. You've built a business entirely out of your own vision, throwing things at the wall to see what sticks, somehow keeping all these balls in the air.
But let's admit it: it's starting to feel like a bit much. And you're tired.
Everything is always in motion, yet somehow nothing ever feels finished. You're running five different experiments at once, and even though you know you're the real deal, there's nothing really connecting all the different sides of your brand.
The mental energy it takes to hold everything up in the air is draining you.
What the juggler needs is cohesion. Not fewer ideas but a thread. A brand that can actually hold all those brilliant ideas for you — so instead of constantly keeping everything in the air yourself, you can put it all together, and your audience gets to see the whole picture, not just the separate pieces.
The contortionist is a shapeshifter, the people-pleaser, the "I can make that work" queen. If this is you, you've been bending over backwards trying to fit what your clients want, what your peers are doing, what the algorithm says you should do, and what your offers used to look like.
You've changed tone, changed colours, changed structure. And it's worked to an extent. You've been adaptable and resilient and responsive — underestimated skills in a business owner.
But lately, it's starting to cost you clarity. You're starting to forget what your voice even sounds like. You're looking at your brand and thinking, "Is this even me? Do I even like this anymore?"
You're working so hard to fit in that you've lost the edges that make you stand out.
You need a brand that's rooted in your values, your story, your weird little corner of the internet. You've twisted yourself into knots trying to fit what they want. But what about what you want?
It's time to bring back the person behind your personal brand. You don't need another template. You need permission — permission to stand out, to take up space as you, and build a brand around that.
Whether you're breathing fire, walking the wire, juggling brilliance, or folding yourself into a hundred different expectations — this is your sign. You're not doing it wrong. You've just grown so much that now's the time for your brand to catch up to who you've become.
Take the quiz, meet your character, and then come talk to me about The Extravaganza — where we'll build a brand strategy, visual identity, website, and social media assets that match your business growth and leave you ready to sell from day one of your rebrand launch in just 12 weeks.
And with that, I'll see you in the next show!
